TramNation Traxx Stars: The Passion Pit Interview (Part One)

In the Mix: Passion Pit's Nate Donmoyer.

The Boston group Passion Pit flourished in 2009 with their groundbreaking record, Manners. Their first single, The Reeling, soared inside the top 30 Billboard Alternative Charts. Meanwhile, their record was among the top 55 ranked albums last year. This band marched onto the Indie music scene with tracks that featured soulful chorus lines with uplifting, club driven synthesizers and baselines. When the band isn't recording new material or on tour, Passion Pit has remixed some of the hottest musicians and bands in the industry. Drummer Nate Donmoyer made his reservations on SkyTram for the first installment of our interview to reflect on his big break the music industry, recording Manners and his favorite remixes he's done for other recording artists.

TramNation Traxx Stars: The Tom Staar Interview

Multitalented UK DJ/Producer Tom Staar could be one of the top names in the Indie Electronic dance scene. Earlier this month, SkyTram debuted an exclusive DJ set that incorporates an ear-candy array of house music, hard techno and space-age electronica that has impacted his own discography. In 2009, Staar received enormous hype on BBC Radio 1 and Annie Mac’s weekly program. He bases most of his music influences on many top artists such as Crookers, Prodigy, Erol Alken and Erasure. He has also garnered global acclaim for his dance remixes of music by pop rock icons such as Phil Collins, Coldplay, Little Boots and Kings of Leon. His dj sets have earned top billing on radio airwaves across Great Britain and other parts of Europe. Ali took time out of his hectic schedule in the UK to chat with SkyTram's own Aaron Malofsky about his big break in the music biz and both his current and forthcoming record releases.

How did you get into deejaying and production?
My brother got me into deejaying about 15 years ago when I was 14. He wanted to buy decks for Christmas, but I wanted a Nintendo. I was lucky he won the battle!
