Skyz The Limit: The Top 5 Tunes of The Week (January 22nd)

1. Muse – Knights of Cydonia (DJ Merritt’s Feed Me Harder Remix) This past summer Deadmau5 unveiled a memorable unreleased bootleg that mashed up Muse with Daft Punk, causing a fire storm among the crowdgoers at Wonderland Ibiza. Dallas’ own DJ Merritt has unleashed a brilliant re-creation of this tune that samples “Harder Better Faster Stronger” with one of Muse’s signature tunes from the Black Holes and Reservations record. It’s the weekend; give this new monster bootleg a spin during your weekend house party extravaganza!

Skyz The Limit: The Top 5 Tunes of the Week (January 15th)

1. Miike Snow – Silvia (Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South Remix) Miike Snow’s minimalist techno ballad is reworked into a high-energy electro-house tune in this collaboration between Ingrosso and Australian-based DJ Dragan Roganovic (Also known as “Dirty South”). After initially retaining the track core melody, it erupts into an explosive, fast-fire disco romp filled with mind-numbing synths and swirling back beats. This is arguably one of the finest Snow remixes ever concocted. If you like this track, check out Dirty South’s great remixes of U2, Depeche Mode and Temper Trap. [TBA Release]

Skyz The Limit: The Top 5 Tunes of The Week (January 7th)

Basement Jaxx – My Turn (Tom Staar Remix) One of the most melodic and beautifully crafted tunes from the duo of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe receives a stunning, beat-driven makeover by multitalented deejay/producer Tom Staar. Staar masterfully replaces the guitar riffs with space-age keyboard eletronica, drum loops and acid baselines. Stay tuned for his exclusive Mini-Mix and interview with SkyTram. Hopefully, fans will see an official release of this remix in 2010. Look out for his new EP Heavy Artillery, which will be released on Moda Music soon.

Skyz the Limit: Best Singles of 2009

Skyz The Limit brings you a very special top ten tunes that should be on your ipod before January.

1. U2 – Moment of Surrender This track deserves top honors as Bono hasn’t sounded this impassioned since his masterpiece, Unforgettable Fire. This slow Caribbean rock jammer features Bono and his mates crooning about a loss of innocence or self-identity. No Line On The Horizon wouldn’t have been the same without this centerpiece track. The tune has also been a top crowd pleaser during the encore performances of the U2 3600 tour.

2. Miike Snow – Animal When you think of massive 2009 singles, Animal deserves elite status because of its unique combination of killer baselines and refreshing blend of electro house music and 70s style disco grooves. The Swedish band released a number of gr

1.     The Streets – Blinded By The Lights (Nero Remix) 2009 sparked a new music revolution with the introduction of dubstep and pulverizing baselines.
